About Gracie:

It’s hard to believe that Gracie has been living in a shelter environment for over 5 years, and with us since we opened in November 2015.  She is now a senior and we so desperately want to see her live out her golden years in a home that understands her personailty and unique needs. Gracie has so much love to give and becomes extremely attached to her people, but does need time, patience, and mulitple visits for her to learn to trust new people that might be considering her for adoption. Through our training and socilaization program, Gracie has learned to enjoy playing with dogs which has replaced the aggression she used to display toward them.  This is a HUGE step in building her confidence, and as a result, her fear of new people has slowly started to diminish.  If there were an award called “Best Loose Leash Walker”, Gracie would win it without a doubt.  She enjoys going on walks, and never pulls.  She plays fetch, but also will sometimes want you to chase her to get the ball.  Gracie is the best dog to take on a road trip as co-pilot because she is her happiest sitting in the front seat waiting to see where the adventure will take her.

If you are interested in setting up a meet-and-greet, we ask that you submit your application to bark@iheartdogs.org, and we will follow-up within 72 hours after we have had a chance to review it.  To read more about our adoption process, as well as download our adoption/foster application, please go to our Adoption Process page.
