About Eloise:

The Storybook Kids came to us as strays found living out behind a business in Detroit — they were not in great shape; thin, covered in wounds, and scared. Eloise (mostly white), Madeline (black and white), and Matilda (all black) are surprisingly trusting for being on their own for some time. Though initially cautious, they all warm up incredibly quick and will find their way into the nearest lap to give kisses. Matilda (who came to us in the worst condition and may have some permanant scarring) may be the friendliest of them all, running up to just about anyone without hesitation and rolling over for belly rubs. Eloise (the largest of the three) is more cautious, both when meeting other dogs and when meeting new people, but even she isn’t about to turn away a good ear scratching! Madeline, who was the most frightened on intake, has warmed considerably and now approaches people with her tail wagging! All three are very attentive and will learn quickly for food. Madeline, Matilda, and Eloise are all very interested in befriending other dogs and playing, but they are still trying to come to terms with other dogs being friends. While they are dog-friendly, they aren’t quite ready to just jump in and play. These three may require a little extra patience to learn what it means to be a part of a family, but we think they will return your patience with lots and lots of love! They would do best in dog experienced homes. We haven’t yet tested them around children so they may do well with younger kids.
