About Scarlet:

Scarlet was not feeling well when she arrived at our Haven, but she is starting to get better and her personality I starting to show.  Scarlet was a hunting dog that wouldn’t hunt — she was sold repeatedly and failed at hunting every time so was finally (and luckily) dumped at the local shelter. Since her arrival with us, she is learning to walk on leash, has discovered the benefits of soft comfy beds for the first time, and is getting spoiled with frozen stuffed kongs.  She is getting to know inside sounds because she was likely an outside dog until living in a shelter, and she gets braver every day.  Overall, Scarlet is such a gentle soul who is good with other dogs, and although she has not been tested with cats yet, we suspect she will do just fine.  We are suggesting that she live with teenagers or older only because she is a little fearful so the commotion that younger children bring might be startling to her.  But she does not have a mean bone in her body so she could be successful with younger children that are well-behaved and understand boundaries with dogs.
