About Buster:

Buster is a Husky/Shepherd/Lab mix who was very much loved in his own home — perhaps too much so, as he is a little on the obese side. We are working on getting his weight down. Buster came to us after his owner moved back in with her mother and Buster decided he wanted to chase after the family’s free-range chickens … um, he is a dog!!!! His owner was given an ultimatum and, as much as it hurt her, she had nowhere else to go and so Buster was out! Buster is an exceptionally sweet boy who does well with other dogs, cats, and children of all ages. He does enjoy counter surfing so would really need a lot of help in avoiding temptation so he can get back into shape! Although Buster doesn’t have much obedience training, he is said to be housebroken and does enjoy giving paw. Buster’s most favorite thing is exploring, so many walks will do this boy some good.  But sometimes he may go a little overboard in his desire to explore — he is an escape artist and climb over a standard chain link fence, and dig under a privacy fence!  So we think he would to best in a yard with a privacy fence with reinforcing at the bottom so he can’t dig — this and some yard monitoring while he is out will hopefully keep this nomad at home safe and sound! Overall, Buster is a big sweetheart who will need frequent brushing and help loosing weight, but otherwise would be a great addition to just about any family.
