About Brutus:

Attention German Shephard lovers — okay, all dog lovers — Brutus is a big boy who has big love to share with anyone willing to take the time to get to know him.  Brutus lived with a family that had two sons, appox 8-10 years old, and while they did a good job potty training and teaching basic obedience, he was not socialized well with the outside world.  New people scared him.  During his time with us, we have slowly taken him through the socialization process, so that strangers have become less scary.  While he is not to the point where a stranger can walk up to pet him, he is making great progress.  After a proper introduction with our trainer and then taking Brutus on a walk together, you will be on your way to making friends with Brutus.  And when you do, you will see that he is a lively, clumsy, silly love bug that is hilarious to be around.  He loves to play fetch, swim (including using his water bucket as a mini splash pool!), go on walks, roll in the grass and scratch his back, and sit on your lap and smother you with kisses like a lap dog. Brutus loves treats so he is very easy to train and already knows sit, down, and paw. In an effort to set Brutus up for success, it is preferred that his future home’s dedicated yard has a privacy fence, and his future family has experience with German Shephards, or with larger breed dogs in general.

If you are interested in meeting Brutus, we ask that you participate in one of our Sunday training and socialization sessions (11:00-2:00) after you go through the application process.
